Not just India. I first ran into, poor choice of phrase, instead I should say, I first rode along with that honk in pre-Castro's, Batista's, Havana. Our driver hurtling thought blind alleys would do a double honk approaching cross streets and turns. It seemed to work, we got from here to there unscathed and no people or vehicles were dented by our passing.

Haha. I always found the honking relatable to a street dog's bark. They mostly bark out of fear and self-security.
